BTEC Tech Award Level 1/2 Health and Social Care Component 1 - a complete teaching package to pick-up and run with. This covers what is needed for the life stage Later Adulthood (65+ years) and mock PSA Task 1 If you are following my SoW 2023-2024 this is Week 7, there is less in the content delivery so this week is a Mock PSA Task 1 with guidance. There are still homework for both Level 1 and Level 2 but you may want to set part of the Mock PSA Task 1 as homework instead All the spec content for Later Adulthood is included in one presentation with 46 slides which have animation so text is delivered in chunks. These cover the expected key characteristics in each of the PIES classifications. There is a second presentation which walks students through their PSA Mock Task 1 test. BTEC Tech Award Level 1/2 Health and Social Care Component 1 (New 2022 spec)- a complete teaching package to pick-up and run with. This covers what the content for A2.Cultural and the second half the A2.Social Factors If you are following my SoW 2023-2024, this is Week 11, this now relates to PSA Task 2. There are homework tasks for both Level 1 and Level 2 which are adaptable to suit your need eg.date There is an activity to summarise learning and two task using the PEE exam answering technique to support the application of a case study to a cultural factor case study situation. There is a 32 slide PIES development presentation which is applied to the spec range of cultural factors. There are several activities within the presentation to keep students engaged and pause points for contributions. The activities summarise points that will be easier to refer to in their PSA in January. With this in mind the homework tasks for both level 1 and level 2 students will build up understanding and again give students their own work/notes which can be with them when they are in their controlled assessment hours for Task 2. This package consists of a 34 page booklet of activities and revision/exam practice for the new BTEC Unit 2 A1 and A2 part of the spec. There are suggested exam answers to any practice questions within the booklet and it's a Word booklet that can be added to or altered to suit your teaching style. To accompany the delivery of content there are SIX PowerPoints and places to make notes and refer to the BTEC Student text book. It is page numbered for ease of use, engaging and a revision resource for students ahead of their exam. Included in this package is an end of topic exam, to test knowledge recall and exam answer application with an easy to follow mark scheme so it can be used for peer marking and revision activities such as card or column match The A1 and A2 part of the spec content, covered in this resources package, is as below:- A1 The roles of people who work in health and social care settings Understand the roles of people who work in health and social care settings, to include: • doctors • nurses • midwives • healthcare assistants • social workers • occupational therapists • youth workers • care managers/assistants • support workers. BTEC Tech Award Level 1/2 Health and Social Care Component 1 - a complete teaching package to pick-up and run with. This covers all that is needed for the life stage Middle Adulthood (46-64 years-olds) If you are following my SoW 2023-2024 this is Week 6, there is less in the content delivery so this week is an opportunity to start preparing students for their PSA Task 1. There are activities and worksheets to work on independently and homework for both Level 1 and Level 2. All the spec content for Middle Adulthood is included in one presentation with 40 slides which have animation so text is delivered in chunks. These cover the expected key characteristics in each of the PIES classifications. There are 10 activities for students to practice planning for the PSA in a visual steps format and then a written piece of work that is A4 but can be enlarged to A3. The content covered is:- Middle adulthood (46–64 years): • physical: at the end of this life stage the ageing process begins, menopause occurs for women • intellectual: can use knowledge and experience for complex decision making, may retire • emotional: may experience changes in self-image and self-esteem linked to retirement or ageing process, emotional wellbeing is based on attachment, security and contentment • social: may have more time to socialise All the resources are in a format you can adapt to suit your need.
